Helloooooo friends!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer, and to all of my teacher friends HAPPY SUMMER BREAK!!!
I posted last week about wanting to start fresh on my fitness journey this summer after a rough last few weeks of school, and let me tell you, it has been AWESOME! I love the summer because I really allow myself to take time for me. I am able to start crafting again which is a great stress reliever for me, and I am able to make it to the 5:15 am Monday, Wednesday, Friday workout class at Christ Fit Gym which I LOVE. Starting those mornings early with a devotion time and a time just for me to work on myself before my husband and kids ever even think of waking up is so nice! It is really hard for me to make it to that class during the school year because I typically have to be at school at 7:15 for morning duty, and getting myself showered and ready as well as two kiddos…it’s hard. But since I am moving to kindergarten next year, I will only have morning duty one day per week, so hopefully I will be able to attend more when school starts! Fingers crossed!!
On the mornings I am not working out at the gym, I like to start my day with an early morning training run. As I have said before, I am training to run a half-marathon at the end of October. In order to do so, I will have to commit to running at least three days per week, so I started this week running on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. It is so peaceful to go for a run early as the sun is coming up (especially before that Louisiana heat really kicks in). It was raining heavily on Thursday morning, so I decided to save my run for that evening, and I actually went!!
Not only have I been boosting my efforts in the fitness department, I have also been tracking what I eat and making sure my macros are on point! So far, so good!!! I haven’t put one thing in my mouth that I haven’t entered into MyFitnessPal. This is just a wonderful accountability tool for me, and boy has it been working!
When I started (over) last week, I weighed 187.3 with 41% body fat (yeah, my fancy scale tells me that). Here were my measurements:
Obviously I wasn’t happy about that, so I decided to do something about it. I got my booty moving (and squatting) and heavily monitored my eating situation and I saw HUGE changes in just ONE week!! I typically don’t measure inches after a week, but I knew I was feeling changes in my clothes, so I had to find out. I weighed in today at 179.4! That’s down 8 pounds IN ONE WEEK! My body fat also went down half a percent, which is pretty great! Here are my current measurements:
arms: 12.5″ (-.5″)
chest: 39.5″ (-1.25″)
waist: 33″ (-2.25″)
tummy: 42″ (-3″)
hips: 46.5″ (-.5″)
thighs: 26.5″ (-.5″)
calf: 16″ (-.5″)
You guys! That’s down 8.5 inches total IN ONE WEEK!!!! I’m super stoked and can’t wait to keep seeing awesome results! Keep in mind, when I started this journey in January, I weighed 197 pounds, so I’m almost down 20 pounds, which is super exciting! I will update weigh-ins weekly and measurements monthly! I hope to be at my goal weight before my half-marathon in October, so I gotta keep truckin’. If you need help getting started or some encouragement, let me know!! In the meantime, I’ll finish sipping on my Spark and then maybe get ready to go to the pool!!! 🙂
